Tribune Trust Supports East Riding Domestic Abuse Trust with £2,000 Donation

The Tribune Trust has donated £2,000 to support the work of the East Riding Domestic Abuse Trust (ERDAT), helping the charity continue its vital support for people affected by domestic abuse across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

ERDAT works to relieve distress caused by domestic abuse by providing practical support to adults and children who are fleeing unsafe situations. The charity works closely with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership (DVAP), which manages 19 safe houses across the area for victims at high risk.

The donation will help ERDAT respond quickly to urgent requests for essential items needed to make these safe houses suitable for immediate occupation. Victims often arrive with little or nothing, and properties must be turned around quickly between occupants. ERDAT also supports families as they move on to more permanent accommodation and provides specialist resources to help children and young people process their experiences.

Anne Stuart, Vice Chairman of ERDAT, said the charity relies on grants and donations to ensure help is available at the point it is needed. Demand for support continues to grow, with dozens of adults and children benefiting each year, and plans in place to extend support through additional voluntary organisations in areas such as Bridlington, Goole and Beverley.

The Tribune Trust’s donation will help ERDAT maintain its ability to offer timely, practical assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in the region.
