Tribune Trust presents £2,000 to Maxlife Youth Project
The Maxlife Youth Project, based in East Hull, has received £2,000 from the Tribune Trust to support the launch of its new MaxOut Saturday Breakfast Club.
The cheque was presented by Steve Clayton, Director of the Tribune Trust, during a visit to meet staff, volunteers, and young people who benefit from the project.
The MaxOut Breakfast Club will give young people the chance to enjoy a nutritious meal while also learning essential cooking and life skills. Young participants will help design recipes, prepare food, and cook meals such as pancakes, healthy fry-ups, and French toast. The sessions will also include sports, crafts, games, and one-to-one support for those facing life challenges.
With around 30–40 young people attending regularly and up to 90 individuals set to benefit, the project will provide vital weekend and holiday support for families when school clubs are not available.
Steve Clayton said:
“Maxlife is at the heart of its community, giving young people a safe, welcoming space and the skills to build brighter futures. The Tribune Trust is proud to support such an important project.”
Paul Spooner, Chair of Trustees at Maxlife, added:
“We’re so grateful for this funding, which will allow us to restart and expand our Breakfast Club. It’s not just about food — it’s about giving young people confidence, independence, and a safe place to belong.”
