Hull KR Foundation Receives Grant Boost from High Sheriff

On the 10th of July, Mike Rice, the High Sheriff of Hull and East Riding, paid a special visit to the Hull KR Foundation to present a £3,000 grant on behalf of the Tribune Trust – a vital boost to the Foundation’s ambitious youth-led community centre refurbishment.

The Hull KR Foundation is committed to transforming lives through health, wellbeing, employability, and sport. With many youth centres in East Hull having closed over recent years, the Foundation is stepping up – providing a safe, modern, and inclusive space for up to 150 young people annually.

This grant will support new equipment and decorating efforts as part of a wider project to modernise the centre. Uniquely, it’s the young people themselves who are leading the design and delivery – ensuring it’s a space built by them, for them.

With access to sports and structured programmes that promote teamwork, respect, and discipline, Hull KR Foundation hopes to inspire good citizenship and reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Paul Hamnett, Chief Executive, Hull KR Foundation:

"This support from the Tribune Trust, delivered by the High Sheriff, helps us provide young people with a space they can take pride in, connect through, and use as a springboard to brighter futures.”

With community at its heart and young people leading the way, the Hull KR Foundation is proving that with the right support, positive change really is possible.
