Tribune Trust
What is the Trust ?
The Trust is an endowment fund, registered with the Charities Commission. It was established by the High Sheriffs of Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire and the Chief Constable of Humberside Police to improve quality of life and create a positive image for our business and residential communities.
Aims of the Trust
The Trust provides grants for community safety projects and initiatives within the area served by Humberside Police when financial support is not available from other sources. In this way the Trust can improve quality of life by making local communities safer and better places in which to live, work invest and do business.
Who funds the Trust ?
Funds are raised from those who are concerned with local issues including Trust Partners, official bodies, private donors and other Trusts.
Who runs the Trust ?
The Patrons and Trustees are local people who serve for a fixed term. Former, current, and future High Sheriffs and business leaders form the backbone of the Trustees. Through close contact with the police, donors and the community, they ensure that the Trust’s funds are used constructively to maximise the benefits to business and residents.
Who can apply for funding ?
Local groups from the business, public and voluntary sectors will work closely with the police to seek funding for schemes which address local concerns about the fear of crime, safety, security and crime reduction, particularly over the long term. The Trust often provides ‘seed corn’ money which unlocks other funding streams.
