Humber Night Challenge 2010

The tribune Trust Sponsored, Humber Night Challenge 3rd event and competition will take place during the night of 6/7 March 2010. Over a 9-mile route along the Viking Way from Elsham, North Lincolnshire.

Outward Bound Course, Ullswater, Cumbria

The Tribune Trust through the sponsorship of trustee Mr Rodger Booth sponsored two young men aged 16 and 18 years to attend the 3-week course at the Cumbria Outward Bound Centre between 25 July and 15 August 2009.

Youth Work – Beverley

The High Sheriff of the East Riding Mr Patrick Farnsworth and the Trust Director facilitated on behalf of the Trust a seminar at the Memorial Hall, Beverley on 1 October to bring together statutory and voluntary sector youth programmes in the town and surrounding area.

Bridlington Sports College

A Grant Award of £2,500 has been made by the Trust to the Bridlington School Sports College to develop a horticultural site in the grounds of the College. The area of land will be worked by children and students of the school kinked to the Science Curriculum but also with the 2012 London Olympics theme with plants represented the colours of competing nations. A sensory garden is also planned.

Hessle Road Carnival and Pram Race

A Grant Award of £500 was made to fund aspects of the historical fishing industry Hessle Road Pram Race on 5 September 2009. The race and carnival raised £25,000 for local community projects in the Hessle Road area of Hull several already supported by the Tribune Trust. A further grant from a national rugby charity is being sought to use some of the funds for a rugby league Grass Roots sporting programme based upon successful similar projects in Hull..

   

The Green Project, Great Hatfield

A Grant Award of £2,000 was made to the Green Project, Great Hatfield, East Riding of Yorkshire on 3 September 2009 by the High Sheriff of the East Riding Mr Patrick Farnsworth and the Chairman Hugh Bethell. The community farm has been established by the owner Mr Denys Fell for learning about agriculture by young people, recovering drug users in treatment and others with special needs.
